This is quite an accomplishment for the 3 series Chief Engineer.

I sold my BMW 335i to buy a C class specifically for this reason. It was one of my best decisions ever! BMW really messed up big time with their twin turbo engine. I had my 335i break down on me twice due to the HPFP. Have never been happier with my C class.

I did the same thing. I am much happier with the C350 than the 335i.

Well I have both & just love them equally. To be honest I think they're excellent cars in their own class. Haven't had any problem with my 07 335 as yet. Every car has its share of problems but believe that 335 problem is a bit over exaggerated.

I've heard and read about many problems with the 335i especially the earlier model years. Really glad that I opted for my C350 rather than the 2007 335i that I was also looking at! There is still something to be said for a strong NA engine!

Sure, when they perform correctly, they are both wonderful cars, but you're not really trying to draw a general conclusion from your sample of N=1, versus the number of plaintiffs needed to certify a class action.....excuse me, two class actions?!?!

As others have said, the problem is over exaggerated, one of the reasons nothing has come of the HPFP issue is that the problem is so minor (minor relative to how many total cars are affected by the issue) but obviously you only hear of the complaints. I did a lot of research before buying the 335i because all I heard was terrible things about the fuel pump, but the issue is indeed over exaggerated.
