Congrats if you get 50,000 miles. I am green with envy. I changed out my Bridgestone Turanza rears at 34,000 KM & I thought that I was a sedate driver !!

I would have thought that you would change your tyres when they are worn out irrespective of mileage.

I change mine when or a little before they reach the wear indicator.

Inspect the tread pattern, If you notice the tread wear bars becomes flush with the tire's treads, it is time to replace them.

Or take them to any "reputable" tire shop and they will tell you or give you a pretty good guestimate...

When you get down to the wear bar you still have a few 1000's miles to go depending your style of driving and is time to start thinking about getting new tires.
