if you don't care about the light in the dash, you don't really need it

Yea, not needed. You can even unscrew the bulb if it annoys you that much.

or you can just disable the TPMS entirely through a STAR system.

yeah, my current wheels don't have the TPMS installed because I'm waiting to get new tires and then will install them. When you turn on the car, there is a little light that blinks for 5 seconds or so, then remains constant and I've noticed when I take sharp turns or on an on/off ramp, there is a message that comes up and says the TPMS are not engaged (something to that nature) and I just hit OK to make it go away. I've had them this way for a couple months and it honestly is not a big deal, just know it's going to be there unless you unscrew the bulb or whatever. I asked my mechanic how much the TPMS' are and he guesstimated it would be around $600 for a set of four...not sure how accurate that is though.

Around 250.00 to 300.00 for a set of four from Tirerack.

Does anyone else find the TPMS on the C quite annoying where when and if that dreaded RED alert about a low tire pressure goes of on the dashboard one would need to check all 4 tires to figure which one has the low pressure why not actually show the lbs on each tire instead .... i believe i read somewhere that either the 2010's or the 2011's has this finally !!??

Yeah, the 2010 (or maybe 2011) models show each tire's psi. I had a loaner for a day and saw it in the dash. Very convenient feature

Yes you can. I had my TPMS transferred from my 18" 5-spoke AMG to my 19" Zolder with no problem

Yes it happened to me a couple of times in my '08 C300... The speedometer will all of a sudden blink in red for a few seconds which always made me pullover and check to find out if I had flat or not I also noticed the "check tire pressure" sign goes on when the weather changes
