Unhappy Same ol'... Same ol'...

Fellow C300 drivers who have had broken or cracked fog lights!!! I am now a member of the club! Long story short...

C300 + Highway + Rock = Broken Driver Fog lamp

I did a search and read a lot of the suggestions and concerns. Saw the post regarding Lamin X and will be looking into that after replacing the damaged fog.

I also saw the wide range of prices coming from both dealerships and onlines sites. I just called my dealer here in Houston and they quoted me $258.10 for the assembly w/o install!!! Ouch!!!

I read how people had concerns with proper fits when buying online, but does anyone have a for sure website they bought from and had no problems with the fit? I've searched myself and seen the price ranges from $39-$80 online.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks...

I dont know anything about the lens itself but I highly recommend that you purchase some lamin-x covers so you wont have to dish out $250 everytime this happens.

After reading post after post about these fogs getting broken due to road debris and the complaints about the high cost of replacing them i do cannot understand why one would not put the lamin-x on the fogs

Granted it's not 100% certain that this will protect the lens but i have yet to see a thread saying " fogs with Lamin-X film broke "

True... True... In all honesty, I seem to only find myself on this site when a problem occurs! With that being said, there's a lot of great post to prevent such problems from happening. So I will definitely be doing a lot more reading and searching the forums more often! Lamin X will be installed after fog light is fixed.

Still waiting on dependable sources online to assure me a correct fit... Anyone???

How much does a headlamp tint cut down on the Xenon illumination? We get to drive at 200 kph all the time around here, even at night, so lighting s everything.

Don't want to make a new post so hoping someone can help me out...

Would anyone happen to have a picture of the C300 Sport Model fog lamp? What it actually looks like outside of the car, of course. =)

Looking at some online and would like to buy the correct one, asap!

Thank you all very much for your help...

Thank you Reaper, but I meant the actual fog lamp. As in the whole assembly. Seeing some online and need to make sure the brackets, etc look the same.

Thanks...

I ordered the $40 one on ebay originally. Don't do it, it doesn't fit even though it says its for sport. Also, it isn't the oem hella one and looks completely different. I went to vipgermanparts.com and got the oem hella one for the sport styled bumper for around $90 and change shipped to my house. When I got it I discovered that it was bought from MB of fort lauderdale. You might want to contact them directly and see what price they can give you and cut out the middle man?

Anyway, it was oem, and I installed it myself within 15 minutes. I didn't even take off the bumper or the fender liner; I did it from the front. I took off the mesh with the three torx T15 screws (or t20, can't remember). And then I used a socket wrench with an adjustment to get the torx bit into it, and removed the 4 rear facing torx screws from the front of the car. It took a little of messing around to get it to fit through the opening safely, but I finally did it. After that I applied my laminx (I learned the hard way myself), and I was good to go!

EDIT:
Here it is (these are the same fog lamps as on the c63 amg too I believe). These are for cars with the sport packages. If you have the luxury front bumper, they won't fit, you must use the pane on the left and navigate to the w/o amg for luxury fog lamps. It appears they are a bit more expensive then when I ordered it. Maybe even more of an incentive to contact MB of Fort Lauderdale for a better deal?
