Custom dash

Anyone ever gotten their dash wrapped in leather?
I see how the S class are done and was wondering what it'd take to get the dash out and take it to a shop to have it wrapped. I think it'd really look great to contrast the top half of the C's dash with leather and leave the bottom half plastic.
If any one has done it, I'd love to see it!

I haven't seen one yet...all I saw are just CF trim but not an actual dash overwrap

Don could probably do it

You could wrap that trim in vinyl, but that's all I've seen.

That's kind of what I was thinking, I said leather, but in reality it'd be vinyl look alike.
Do you have pics of this done?

Here's what I'm thinking as far as what look is in my head:

Just trying to do something original. I think it'd add a great look to this interior!
opinions/suggestions are welcome!

also wondering how hard it is to pull the dash out of these cars.

Hopefully this doesn't sound too crazy, but I was thinking of trying to put in an Alpine double din and integrate it to run side by side with the factory stereo so I don't loose any control, but gain nav and style.
I was thinking of a look like my girl's 335i:

Or maybe design it in MB fashion like the S550:

So I'd be deleting the pop up cover and 4" screen and just build right into the dash itself with wood and fiberglass to smooth it out.
But everything I'm seeing looks like this dash doesn't come out too easily for fiberglass work, so I'm not about to start pulling apart this car without more info.

here's a visual of what I have in mind.
busted out my photoshop and put my ideas into a picture. I molded a 335i navi opening onto my C300 sport dash.
This is what I'd love to make:

Who thinks it can be done and what might it take?

That looks seriously good, mercedes should have designed something like that into the W204. It's possible just takes a ton of $$$$$$

Us East coast guys got it a bit rough, but the molding part won't be impossible it's going to be getting it to work. I'll post a pic of a friends C55 in a few.

that's really trick! maybe I can go that route.
I just want to do it and have it look near factory if I do. It's why I was considering wrapping it in vinyl or something else to clean up any imperfections.

Maybe if you dont have the OEM nav you can do a custom screen in that space where that little screen is. You can possibly make it from fiberglass, but that's a mess to work with.

Looks sort of like the sneak preview of the 2011/12 W204 Estate interior pix linked somewhere else on this site. It looked great, would trade the 2010 C300 Sport just to get the new interior (and maybe a 350 while I am at it).

Yeah, it looks like they have a style similar to the S550 dash.
Maybe I should've waited... or I'll just create my own lol

You should probably just wait until the 2012 C-Class parts come in. Rumor has it the dashboard is going to be changed to mirror the e-class and the rest of the line with a built in screen. Then just retrofit it. It would be much easier, I would assume.

I was thinking that could work too... most likely cost the same amount as well.

Was doing some searching and noticed that the GLK has some C300 parts in it, and I found a picture of their dash lay out, it's definitely the closest thing to what I had in mind, and it's even Mercedes built:

fwiw, I'm not sure of the interior dimensions to a GLK, but maybe I could get the top dash and retrofit it onto my C300 dash and go from there

Toying with idea of IPAD integration with dash remold. Talked to a few companies at SEMA who are doing this and some guys who had it done on their rides there. Would look amazing.
