I just sprayed the back of my car. I am gonna do all the chrome on the sides this weekend.

FYI: The home depot I went to had black of course, but also gloss white in a spray.

Looks good. Any experimentation with the white?

So after every coat you have to let the stuff dry and re-tape the lip? Can you do the desired amount of coats and take off the lining on the last one?

No if you do that the Plasti dip will rip with the tape as it dries over the tape , when you pull the tape off right after spraying the Plasti dip doesn't have time to dry on top of the tape .

let me ask u guys something.. about how much of the can did you use on each rim?? I used 3 cans total on all four..

is that too little?
you can KIND OF still see the silver paint under it, is that enough?

I realized the closer you place the can the less textured the coat comes out...

From the other forums I've read through, mostly CL, people have said that they've gone through a can per wheel or have done a minimm 5 coats on each wheel. So I guess somewhere in that ballpark would be where you would want to aim for?

That came out really nice , good spray job . I only ended up doing three coats a wheel and one coat of clear coat . I still used about a can a wheel though cause i did pretty thick coats . Now just have to see how long it lasts .

Thanks, it was done over a 2 day period and I think I am going to regret not doing the coats thicker but its cool cuz I can always redo it and still roll my car as I have my stocks.

Ill keep u posted

Maybe, but not on this car. I have a Scion tC that I might do some plasti dip work on.

you dont have to tape the tires...it peels off or just go around it with a blade

yea I figured...that just goes for tires tho. the rest can be a pita

btw the clear is not a true clear...its a hazy finish. I think someone tried actual paint clear, but haven't seen pics

They have a few different colors. Plus a kit to make your own colors.

Sean's Sister--
do you need to prep the parts before you spray it on or just clean it and spray away?
