different rear tires than the front?
It's about that time to get my rear tires changed,, is it possible to get different tires on the rear than the front ones? Front tires are still good for about another 10-20k. I have the stock hx mxm4 tires all around, was thinking about getting Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus for the rear. Its cheaper with better specs i believe. I searched for this question in the search bar, came back with no luck.
MXM4

I have planned that all my tyres wear out together.
In case they do not I will be buying two new different branded tyres & wait for the OEM tyres to wear out.
I would suggest if you are in the habit of pushing your car to the limit then all 4 tyres should be matched.

ginkgo,
To make matters worst, Michelin is bringing out a better tire that isn't available in the rear tire size yet. That's what I really wanted. Just bad timing.
In part due to Michelin's recommendation, I stayed with the MXM4s. The replacement tires do ride better than the original rubber.
Part of the MXM4's benefit has something to do with how they handle which if you're a purist might be something important to you. I do find that the MXM4s are very particular when it comes to tire pressure but can't say that the other models wouldn't be the same. When you have tires that last 60,000 miles, it doesn't give you a lot of opportunity to experiment.
