It's gonna look sweeeet. Happy Thanksgiving

08SEA300 11-28-2010 02:45 PM

Thanks man!
A bit of down time now. I have the box over with my man Kevin for paint. He's doing it in his spare time, so it may be later next week that I get it back. I'll be sure to post photos of the completed box, and hopefully it'll be in the car soon after!
Thanks for hanging in there guys! Hopefully my end result is something worth waiting for ;)

Last picture before the box is painted- should have it back around thursday.. finally in the home stretch!

sexy

EASYDOES1T 11-29-2010 09:21 PM

Looks good can't wait to see it painted..

And just wondering, what do those plates read? SITBLAC? Hahaha just curious.

08SEA300 11-29-2010 10:14 PM

thanks guys! I'm anxious as can be now

SITBLAZ was the plate actually.
I don't understand it either LOL

Here's what everyone (mainly myself) has been waiting for- it's finally done.
Pretty wild to see my design come to fruition, and I couldn't be happier. This being my first fiberglass box ever, I couldn't be happier. My man Kevin did a phenomenal job with the paint, couldn't be more impressed!

Without any more wait, here she is...

Test fit in the trunk:

W7 in place, and fits like a glove:

I can't wait to wire up the car and have this baby doin work!
Thanks for following my thread, I'll post final pics of everything once it's said and done. :y

Thanks!
judging from your other posts, I'll take that as a compliment :D LOL
I know this kind of box might not be everyone's ideal, but it had been something I've wanted to build for a long time, and I thought this was a good car to try my best work on.

GHAZAN 12-03-2010 02:10 PM

wired? bump

08SEA300 12-03-2010 02:19 PM

Not yet- I wish. There's a small possibility it'll be rockin tomorrow. But it's tough to find time. It'll take a bit to get all the wirin and re-Q in place.
I'll be sure to post final pics when everything is done, I can't wait either!

FRIENDofSEA 12-04-2010 03:12 AM

Looks amazing, bud!

I may have told you that once or twice via text though.

OneOfaKindTrini 12-04-2010 10:56 AM

Did you put dynamat on the inside of it?

vic viper 12-04-2010 12:10 PM

A bit to bulky for my taste I would have removed the left side trunk covering to gain at least 150mm.s of space.

Do you mean in the trunk, or in the box? The answer is no to both, but I may end up doing my trunk lid in time.

That was an option I was facing too. Only thing, I didn't want to tweak the car to the point that it couldn't be put back to stock. So I did it this way.

vic viper 12-04-2010 01:27 PM

The covering is easy to remove or to modify and a replacement doesnt cost more than max $100

If I get tired of this design, I'll go that route next time through. :y

08SEA300 12-09-2010 08:19 AM

Here's the project wrapped up! For some the W7 may be a little much, I have the amp set around 5/8 power and gain's on the re-Q around half for the signal. Bass is set to 0 on the system's bass boost. To give you an idea, if I set my iPod touch on the cupholders, it shakes in place like an earthquake. This sub is just unreal.
I'm really happy with the outcome, just have to quiet up my license plate now lol

Here's everything installed. You can see the re-Q behind the W7, it's a convenient spot for adjustments and everything, and it's held in with velcro. Everything can easily come out and look factory again in about an hour worth of work, if needed.
I'm really happy with how everything came out, and it was worth the effort!

I'll take some DSLR pictures soon, I have some wheels and tires and springs on the way, so I'll wait for that, and than it's photoshoot time! :y

Thanks for following! I'm ready to make another now :D

Great Achievement....maybe not to everyones taste but to see a project completed in the way you have managed it is a credit to you ...well done...!

Thank you!

Also- a side note. If anyone wants to run 4 gauge wire through a C, it'll fit through the fire wall if you go under the fuse block on the driver's side of the car. T20s hold it down, and with it out of the way you'll see a clear opening to the car.
I used the "DIY Amplified Subwoofer install" for assistance running the rear speaker wires for my re-Q. Great DIY! Thanks for that being here :y

Looks great this has been the only thread in months that I have actually found interesting. Keep up the good work.:y

Thank you very much! Very kind of you to say. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I put my mind to something and go after it until it's finished. Now I'm reaping the benefits for a long time to come! :D
Thanks you again!

Thanks!
I'll take a clip today while I'm in the car. The W7 pumps out some lows, so it's kinda funny, you don't really hear it, but you can tell haha
