Does Mercedes bolt it on or do they use tape?

Go aftermarket... use 3M automotive acrylic plus double sided tape (Don't use 3M molding tape) and reinforce it with at least 6 self tapping screws

Tape is fine...don't use screws. Higher risk of damaging your trunk and you won't be able to sell it when you sell your car.

My bad I thought he was referring to a front lip spoiler and not a trunk spoiler

Yeah for a trunk spoiler... 3M acrylic plus double sided tape will do the job as long you prep the area properly... Also use 3M adhesion promoter
