2011 Mercedes C300 Sports Sedan
2011 C300 - Ipod Kit
Hello,
I tried looking around to see if this was already discussed but couldn't find anything.
I just got a 2011 C300 Sports Sedan ( it's awesome so far) that has an ipod kit ( ipod connector in the glove compartment box)
When connecting the ipod, the screen on the ipod shows the Mercedes logo on it and is unusable and found out that i control it using Up and Down and Hang Up buttons on the steering wheel and the display is where the mph but i wasn't able to control it from the LCD screen in the middle of the dashboard. I do not have navigation, so the screen is in there and not the one that comes out automatically.
Is that how it should be and is there a way to get to control the ipod from the lcd screen using the knob next to the gear?
Thanks in advance

I have the manual came with the kit... you should have the ipod kit owner's manual if not ask for at the dealer... manual just indicate operating from the multifunction Steering Wheel, not from any other source

I feel your pain...
I too just bought a 2011 C300 Sport (4matic of course), and was a bit disappointed in this operation (though I LOVE the car, don't get me wrong). I can jump from song to song with the up and down keys, but what does the "hang-up" button do? I wish I could change artists and/or navigate playlists.

All of the regular iTunes/iPod classifications (Playlists, Genre, Artists, Albums, Composer even Books) are available after hitting the hangup button, then clicking the left UP button to scroll through the classifications.
Hit the left OK when you have, say Artists, then use the left DOWN button to scroll through the Artists list. Push one by one, or hold down to run about 10 down in the alphabetical list.
