Get the front rotors OFF
Hey, does anyone have any tricks to getting the front rotors off? I took the retaining torx screw out but the rotors still will not come loose. Any ideas??
I Tried tapping with a mallet but no luck.

should just be the torx screw. then use a mallet & hit it hard a few times at diff spots on the rotor. I used a harder mallet (plastic?) Not the rubber kind, those will just bounce off the rotor.
I hear some ppl use anti corrosive paste between the hub & rotor when you install the new ones so you can get it off easier next time. Basically they are kinda rusted together.
Where did you buy your new rotors?

I have tried just about everything to get this rotor off and it will not work. I have been doing mechanical work on my cars for years and never had trouble with brakes like this. These are the original rotors from the factory and they will not come off, I have 50,000 miles on the car.

Hey guys, unfortunately I surrender and throw the white flag up to the brake rotor gods ........meaning I called my MB tech buddy to do the work for me. Labor will be less than $100 and I will be snowboarding at Okemo in Vermont while he does the work. That is much more relaxing to me that worring about this anymore.
I have to weigh my options. I design and sell smoked overlays for several cars(some of you may have my product on you car). Sorry I cannot advertise here as I am not a sponsor. I could have designed and tested about 3 new products with the amount of time I have spent on this. Time is money!

I'd love to see how the MB techs actually do it.
I wouldn't be surprised if they've got a small sledge hammer (aka "the big hammer") to assist.

if you have a serious rust problem I recommend the use of a propane torch as well..very handy when one part is rusted to another
