So I'm swapping out my aftermarket bulbs the the oem yellow ones and i noticed that after they were installed, my right one was pointing off to the side. I read that the orientation of how the bulb is places matters, as it does not lock in place or anything. Does anyone know how it's supposed to sit in there so i can get it back to normal? Thanks guys!

There is no notch that I can see, I can't see how there is an alignment issue. There is a notch in the bulb, but I don't see that the lamp housing has any special cutout to line it up with.
But I am having the same issue with my car - the stock H7s failed (both within 1 week). I put auto parts store Sylvania H7s in, and the light pattern is totally different (worse) then the OEM bulb. I've tried rotating them to different positions - nothing helps. I just got a mail order set of GE Nighthawk bulbs, I am installing them tomorrow.

Well, maybe there is a notch. I just installed my GE Nighthawks today - and yes there is a cutout in the mounting ring the accomodates the one in the bulb. But all it seems to do is stop the bulb from rotating, its not a "twist lock" of any kind.
The GE bulbs are much better then the over-the-counter Sylvania H7s, which stink. Other posters here also report that the Philips are good.

I have an '08 and I didn't have any problems installing my H7's for both low beams and fogs... Im using Philips Diamond Vision 5000K and Im pretty happy with it so far, it gives out a mild blue hue but generates a bright white light at night
