Windshield washer spray nozzles?

1. Are the nozzles heated in cold weather?
> I could not locate in forum search or Operator's Manual.

2. Nozzle adjustment?
> They are really tight and I seem to overshoot when tapping one side or the other of the floating round piece of plastic where the fluid shoots out.

I have a C180 2010 Avantgarde and they are not heated. I know because mines were frozen last winter.

For the adjustment you may want to use the special tool under Artkl. nr. 001 589 02 16 00, which is also used by the service. I would buy one, if I were you, to save me the trouble of going to service each time. It should cost around $10 or so.

Thanks. Where can I get a hard copy of that article? Anyway, my guess is that they change the nozzle design (and therefore the required tool) between generations.

Does anyone have details about W204 C300, whether the nozzles are heated?

My previous BMW's and VW's had that feature and I found it really helpful. Maybe a tech on board that knows?

To be honest, I don't know for sure. But this car ad listing has it listed as an option under convenience features, so I guess it does: http://www.payneautogroup.com/2010-M...-TX/vd/6002711

I know that my Escalade has heated windshield washer fluid, but they recalled it and removed it and I got a $200 credit because it was catching fire... Lol

I never trust those generic ads from non-manufacturer dealers. I also think it's odd that MB literature (that I have) makes no mention of it. Sure would be nice if the reservoir was heated as well but I'll settle for heated nozzles. Well, maybe someone who knows will reply to this thread someday with a definitive answer. Next time I'm under the hood, I guess I can check if any wires are routed to that area.

I have a Canadian C300 and the heated windshield washer is standard on it. Pretty cool when it's snowing

the artkl. nr. I have given is a tool number, which you should be using to adjust the nozzles. you may ask for that small tool from your dealer.

The MB parts guy said the tool above is $23 and that it "should" work on the C300. After some searching, I found some other tool part numbers, including BMW. I have a feeling they might all be the same or similar. Does anyone know if the MB tool is the same as the HAZET 4850-1?

BTW, if I can believe the parts guy, he said the nozzles are not heated but the reservoir is, supposedly using radiator coolant that passes close to it somehow.
