Almost all tint is practically the same these days in terms of purpose and effect, the only differences are material they're made from. There's dyed film, ceramic film, and metallic. You'll want to avoid metallic as in some cases, the metal in the tint can interfere with radio/bluetooth signals. Ceramic films like Huper Optik offer increased heat rejection, whic can keep your car's cabin cooler overall. Most people use typical dyed films from companies like Llumar, Madico, Pinnacle, Johnsons Window Film, etc. I personally use Johnson's Greystone, which is a double layered dyed film. I like the color (since it doesn't give that greenish look certain other tints give) and it gets the job of appearance/heat rejection done.

But uhh, I have no clue what Moleskin is...Lol. And welcome to the forums

I have not taken the plunge yet, as no one around here carries 3M crystalline due to cost, but from what I have read, this stuff is state of the art, and priced accordingly. Maximum filtration, minimum loss of light transmission. Probably not your first choice if you just want to have a gangster limousine look and are not concerned with UV, heat load, etc.

Go with a good ceramic tint...that would be my reco. No radio interference (cell phone and fm) good heat reduction and looks kind of shiny. Tends to look a just a tad lighter though when comparing same percentages across metallic/dyed films.

Has anyone here just had the their rear windshield and rear passenger windows tinted and left the front windows clear???

I was thinking of doing 15% on the rear windshield and rear windows and 30% on the front... Im still debating on this because it may look a little awkward having 2 different shades

I live in California si Im hesitant to have my front windows tinted with a very dark shade

In my opinion that would look really weird lol. Should just tint it all the way around with the same percentage. Even if it's 35%. 15% is hella dark anyway.

Moleskin is applied inside the doors on the rails to keep the film from getting scratched. Check on tintdude forum if you want more infos.
