Buying C200. Need advice
Dealer tells me two reasons not to worry (1) car has just come in, so their garage would go through before handing over and (2) automatic cars adjust to driving habit - previous driver would have liked a slow accelaration, and so not responding quickly to the accelaration/ jerky gear change.
Would appreciate advice on whether I should go ahead with the purchase. Price is better than other 2008 C200 on sale, so its tempting. Or is the price low because there is a bigger problem they are hiding and I would need to keep running to dealer?
Thanks in advace,
Vikis

But, the trans should not be rough regardless of any previous learning it may have stored. Any theories to the contrary are without merit.
There are plenty more fish in the sea.
Remember the psychology of buying . Your brain will want to complete the deal quickly.Car salesmen know this. Wait for the heat to go out of the purchase ( about 4 days !) then make another appraisal of the car.
I do not know where you are from but if the diesel 220CDI is available you should test drive it. No sluggishness , 400 newton metres of torque which suits the auto gearbox, & great economy ( 6.7 l/100 km overall).

@RLE - am comparing the acceleration/ gear change against other C200 that i have test driven. Unfortunately, the smoother ones are also more expensive, hence trying to see if can work out!!
