The service countdown indicator on my newish 2011 C3004M is not accurately counting down remaining days to the next service interval.

I picked up my car (right off the truck – after dealer prep) 61 days ago, yet the days to next service indicator shows 310 days remaining. 365 days/year minus 61 days is 304, so it’s miscalculated by 6 days. The miscalculation then increases each day, because it is not keeping correct time. The indicator still shows 310 days, which is the number displayed more than 36 hours ago .

Has anyone observed this?

It's never exact. I've noticed it when the "it's almost time" indicator starts coming on when I start the car. Just about a week ago it said 30 days until next service. Then two days later it said 25 days until next service. Then for three days straight, it said 25 days until next service.

The countdown seems to go by like 5 days at a time.

Also, if you're closer on miles, it will convert to miles countdown.

Don't stress it, seems like yours is fine.

it goes down in increments so it doesnt go down one day at a time

Thanks everyone for the explanation. I'll keep a watch on the interval to see how the days/miles count down, especially in Nov. as the car reaches the one year mark.

The service indicated on my former W203 C counted down daily, hence the confusion.
