Here are the details for extended warranty...should I keep it or cancel it
I purchased my 2008 C300 from Carmax on 09/19/2010 with 16,701 miles and paid $2389 for the extended coverage from carmax up to 125,000 miles or 09/19/2016 (whichever comes first).
I can cancel it at anytime and get the pro-rated refund back or applied to my financing.
When I took it into Mercedes for an oil change, the sales rep was telling me that suprisingly the Carmax Ext Coverage plan is good.
But I don't know anything about these cars' durability and break down issues at higher mileage points.
I only drive the car on the weekends and will probably total something between 5000-6000 miles per year @ the rate I'm going.
What would you suggest I do. Keep or Cancel?

Keep it if you're planning on keeping the car long term and get a refund it/when you decide to trade or sell the car. If you will for sure get rid of this car when your MB warranty runs out then the extended warranty wasn't needed at all. However, if you keep the car for a long time this warranty sounds like a very good deal and cheaper than MB's extended warranty.

There has to be a good reason why Carmax is so much cheaper.

Lexus IS 350 F Sport
Might be looking into extending the warranty on our W204 soon .... with close to 40k miles and less than a year left on the OEM I cant see owning the car without a warranty !!
I guess it all depends on how long one plans on keeping the car no ?
