Has anyone seen or know whether using media interface plus to stream from a blackberry is controlled from command, or whether I have to select songs on the BB itself?

I don't know about that. But I bought a blackberry Stereo Blue-tooth a2dp transmitter that plugs into a cigarette outlet and then into the auxillary outlet that I connect to with my iPhone. I can control everything on my iPhone wirelessly. I like it, but I can't control from comand or the steering wheel.

it is controlled via the blackberry only, you can use the "volume"buttons on the right side of the blackberry to move to the next (or previous) song by holding it down for 2 seconds

Also if you download drivesafe.ly then it will also read the incoming emails and text msgs to you via the BT.
