I also bought OEM LED strip for C-Class and did the retrofit same as you; however, the LED too bright at night time.
The original Lighting package comes with lighting module that control the brightness of the LED at night (when low beam/Xenon ON). Are you experiencing the same problem? Thanks |
Can you please PM me details of the retrofit. Very interested in it..
|
Hey I'm from hk too! Sweet ride, it's basically the same car that I have with similar options. Can you tell me about the Brabus tune? How much was it, does it make a huge difference and lastly does it void your warranty? Thanks a lot.

Where did u get the control module? is it Mercedes OEM? How much is it?
Thanks a lot |
!!! this might be what we were waiting for. As long as the cost isnt too much, Im so game to get this retrofitted. I too am interested on more info please :)
As a side note in the previous thread, there is the retrofit for the hockey styled LEDs like on the E class. I saw a 2011 E class today and they no longer have the hockey stick style, its one strip like the C and S |
wow, nicely done, it must be super cool to roar around in the city at nite! which reservoir is it? 萬宜水庫?
|
You can switch your led brightness as you please?
Would this be available with cars that came with LED stock? |

The BRabus tune is great. The kit includes a tuning box made by Brabus, and a Brabus intercooler. It is not cheap , which is over 20k , but u buy what u have paid for. It has 240hp and 37.7kgm@2000rpm . It is especially noticeable at in gear acceleration, Where the difference is huge. In terms of warranty, risk is there, but u can always remove the tuning at anytime.

I'm pretty sure Brabus picks up the warranty, maybe they don't do it in HK? I was looking at Brabus tunes in Germany, and they offered to warranty my engine.. I think it was for 4 years, up to 50,000 miles.

wow, very thorough retrofit.
Any details you can share? thanks |
looking good
was always wondering what is CGI? |

It's stands for charged gasoline injection. Saves a ton of gas.

thanks for the part numbers. Are they cheaper in HK? maybe for canadians but I doubt for the US The module with the wiring harness are installed inside the fuse box. Btw, AFAIK MB parts are cheaper to buy in HK than US:D |

My guess is the parts itself will cost about the same (or even cost more) in HK but I am mainly interested in picking up the control module mentioned. If it means I need to buy the whole deal in 1 go then I'm fine with it. :)
But u can pickup a set of Oem Led DRL for about us$ 500. Dunno how much it cost in the US. |

Well, my wife constantly complaining about the harsh ride of the 19in....:D So I have decided to change something much lighter..! The difference is huge... Much more comfortable ride when compared with the AMG 19in... But AMG one looks nicer |
No doubt, your previous amg multispoke is the nicest for C.
|
Can you please PM me the details for the LED retrofit including module and prices?
Thanks |
nice ride

Has anyone successfully retrofitted their pre-2011 w204 fogs to the new LED strips other than Sailexc250?
Seems really complex with a 'control module' to control the brightness. Does anyone know if you can buy the parts and connect it without any control modules? Will it work without an error if I don't care about the brightness control? This is what he wrote to me in a PM: hi! A2048852814 A2048852914 A2048850053 A2048850753 A2048852774 A2048852874 A2218201756 A2218201856 The above parts are all u need for the retrofit of the LED DRL, which includes all the neccessary mountings. Once you have done it u cannot revert back to original as u need to cut off the mounting points of the bumper behind the original fog lights ( don't worry about it, u cannot see the cutting from outside after the installation of the leds). For the control module and the adapter, I have found out a Mercedes specialist from Japan who made very good quality retrofit led kit with wiring harness for various mercedes models, and fortunately, they can be able to communicate in simple English and most importantly they are willing to ship overseas. Have a look at this website, I order the control module directly from them http://www.prostuff-net.com/w204/w204.html From the main page there is a button " inquiry in English" , use this to contact with them. For the price of the control module with the necessary harness and the resister , they charge 40000 yen + 4000 yen shipping to Hong kong, which should be equivalent to us$ 520 grand total. I reckon it is expensive, but their quality is very high hassle fee. I don't have pics of the control module, I will take a pic of it later on. It is attached with the fuse box along with some wiring harness to make the retrofit work. Hope this helps Sailexc250 |
Please PM me details, very interested.
|
I would be interested in an install without the control module as well. If anybody has done it please let us know.

Yes it is possible. But u need to find out 1. Suitable adapter ( since the plug is different for the LED strip, smaller) 2. Suitable resistor ( since voltage is different ) There is a fellow Hong Kong member (Coconut) Who have done this b4. You can try to ask him! |
looks nice

hi,
I get all complete with ECU in http://omtuning.wordpress.com/oem-il...cion-original/ |
Hi guys,
just an update from a guy in the UK london. MB main dealers will not confirm the parts you need until you give them a chasis or numberplate for a car that already had these (DRL) fitted from the factory. I have noticed all late made AMG Sports C classes c250 and above (pre facelift) have these DRLS as standard and you should be able to get a number plate from the autotrader to give them. There are 4 parts for each side and the parts numbers have been given by other members. If you wire them directly to your fog light wires they will blink, so as suggested or as CKSperformance have advised is to wire them to the front SAM Control unit. CKS will supply and fit these for you for about £600 roughly... I had to go through the trouble to find out how to fit these because my car was repaired after a accident and I was given a bumper for DRL's. If you have a sports AMG bumper with round fogs, you need to cut the fog light housing out. See the installation PDF on this page to see how! its under the installtion link.. above the add to cart writing! http://www.cksperformance.com/index....ducts_id=21242 |
Hi sailexc250, i'm a w204 pre-facelift owner in HK. Will you mind PM me the garage that you use for changing the OEM LED DRL lights plus the Japanese controller? How much does it cost for the parts & labor? Thanks a lot!!!
|
Id be interested in hearing about this module too as Ive done the conversion but some how dont think we`re gonna get this information from this source!
