Window Tinting on all black C300 Sport
What should be the best % of tint to make a black in black C300 sport looks the best? Would like to do all around except front windshield. Since I'm in CA, the law only permit 70% (70% of light can go thru) for front windows. But I don't want to do a different tone between the front and the back rollup, that might looks odd. And if the tint is too dark around with a clear windshield, this will look odd too. And I don't want a ticket because of the tint.
Appreciate if you can share some photos, experiences and tips.

I'm with you in that I hate having the back windows dark and the fronts light.. looks bad and breaks up the overall line of the car. Mine are I think 5 percent all the way around.. maybe 10% I forget, and my front windshield is like 50%
Looks reallllly good. Its unfortunate that it is illegal. I haven't been hassled for mine though yet knock on wood... even if i were i would probably just deal with the ticket. I can't picture my car with light windows..

Just did mine - 20% all around - 6 inch strip on the windshield. Looks great. My last car had 4% (special order) and was DAARRKKK !! In DE as long as you have a tint waiver from an eye dr (easy to get) your windows can be as dark as you can find !!!

I live in NYC and the legal limit is also 70. My black on black C has 50 front / 35 rear. It's not that awkward and cops don't bother me about it. I had 35/35 on a previous car and got a few tickets for the front. That 15% difference in the front apparently attracts more attention from cops

Wow 70% is the limit?? That is just about nothing. My legal limit is 35% but I have 15% all around and 65% on the windshield, no tickets and it looks great.
I'll do this to every car I own from here on out.

California Law stipulates that a motor vehicle cannot have any tint on front windows (front doors and windshield) the new fine as January 1st is $270.00 first offence.
I have 35% all around in my opinion looks classy. but if you looking for the gangsta look go for the limo tint.

Mine is somewhere between 15-20%. I did it when I got the car. When the sheriff did my VIN inspection, he put his meter on the window, said it was illegal, but then said it looked sweet and that if he was me, he's just drive it and take my chances. That's what I've done and no issues.

i have 5% all around with 50 on the windshield on my commuting car. i havent tinted my benz yet. but i commute 100 miles a day in jersey which is notorious for giving tickets. on major highways i have no problems. in certain towns some cops will pull you over constantly. when i get pulled over i roll all the windows down to show im not hiding anything and to put the cop at eeze a little bit. ive been finding cops in jersey are younger now and understanding the appeal of tint and giving less tickets as long as you are respectful and roll the windows down when you get pulled over.

5% all around, nothing on the windshield, 6" 5% eyebrow though.
It took some adjusting at night, but I don't think I'll tint with anything less on any future vehicle. It looks great, and it helps on sunny days like a charm.
Been stopped once by some rook. NJ can be a ball buster for it, but at $56 per ticket, online payment even tacks in $5 for "convenience", I'll cough up the money and continue to keep the C looking fresh

I got 35% tint all around except windshield at a Long Island, NY dealer for $250.
20% seemed too dark and I think the other option was 40 or 45% which seems way to light.

To confirm, 70% is the limit

I was actually thinking about adding the 3M Crystalline Tint before it starts to warm up here in the greater South Bay, Northern CA. I'm indifferent to the dark look and don't look forward to night driving but I'm more interested in the best heat blocking available.

I just added tint this past Friday. I went with 15% back window and 35% on the 4 windows. My car is black with black interior. I'm very happy with the out come. I'll post pics later today.
