Rear view Camera( back up camera)
I have two questions about the installing the rear view camera.
Currently, I have a 2008 c300. it has Navigation and multimedia package.
I want to install rear view camera which integrate with my NAVI screen.
I live in Boston, do u guys know any place where can install the rear view camera?
Other question is it easy to do it by myself?
I saw the instructions on the forum. However, it looks pretty difficult.
I kind of don't understand with connecting the camera with system.
I checked the trunk and, there were some kind of media box.
All i need to is just connect the camera with one of the media box which located in trunk, right? or should I bring the camera cable all the way to the place where is the NAVi screen.
Sorry about my English skill...( English is my second language).
Thank you so much for your time.
1. Reprogram COMAND so that it thinks a camera is installed (press "hangup" on the head unit along with "1" and "#" to enter the Engineering mode, and then go to a submenu to select "camera installed"). Verify this by turning the car off, and then restarting it. When you put the car in reverse, the screen should say "check entire surroundings".
2. Install a camera (many choices) using power from the backup lights
3. Run the video cable from the camera to the head unit (in the dash). Connect video to green video in (pale green connector) using FAKRA connector.
Any car stereo shop should be able to do it, but most will want to sell you the NAV-TV $700 VIM module.
