W204 Headlight Illumination Project
Hello MBWorld! I'm a rookie on this forum, but I thought I'd share this project with people who'd like some in on this Illumination Project of mine.
So, here's what's been running my mind. I've always been a more than satisfied with what the current W204's headlights looked like. With the eyebrow light, and the way the projectors are positioned to accentuate a lover stance, and so forth! But lately, and honestly, I've been getting a bit bored with these headlamps. I was thinking that there could be something I could do to these headlights to make them effing sexy! And that's when I came across the 2011 W221. Jesus, effing christ, those headlamps just blew me away with the way they were designed. LED bar that serves as not only a DRL, but also as a turn signal that light's up amber. Also with that side light detailing that illuminates that empty space and clearly defines the elegant curves of those almost human-like headlights. I just had to start a project with making the W204's headlamps resemble those gorgeous set of W221 eyes.
So far, my progress had made it to this. Replacing my eyebrow lights with AZN Optics' LED Wedge bulbs, replacing my humdrum halogen lights with some refreshing 5000K HID Xenon lights from DDM, and replacing those depressing hazy yellow fog lamps with a so-called "Xenon-filled", blue tinted halogen bulbs to brighten up the party as well. So I got the hazy yellow mood out of the lights, and now it's time for beautification.
This is my first plan. I'm planning on making these details a dual mode where it will stay lit along with the eyebrows, and also emit amber with the turn signals. If you'd notice, I also drew in the side-lighting detail that is found on the new W221s. I'm still working around a way to make those happen.
I'm also planning on some LEDs above the fogs that will also be dual color strips that signal and amber light with the turn signals.
So, this is my project that I'm going to be at for some time. Give me some comments on what's up, and please...let's be ladies/gentlemen and not drop hate bombs like bombers during the Battle of Britain.
