Just got back from Paris
And you could not blink twice without seeing a brand new mercedes. About 85% of the taxis i saw in Paris were new/current generation mercedes. Mostly E's but there were brand new C's and a lot of S's doing taxi duty too. Made me 
at first but then 
a bit after that. If you saved your money to buy a benz people would just think you are a taxi driver, and besides if you wanna ride in a benz you could just stick your hand out and wait on the corner for 30 seconds. Most of the street cars i saw there were renaults/citroens/peugots but for the most part it was mercedes fever.
also visited london was different since they use old school style taxis but it was also awesome because i saw a massive amount of supercars in london in a mere 2 days
all the euro C's dont have amber reflector cut outs... its nice looking, but the single tailpipe on c300 CDIs was lame

I love paris and to me owning a car in the city is useless since they have a decent advance rail system in the entire city. I have lived in italy where a mercedes is useful for long drives in the autostrada. germany seems weird because for some odd reason they prefer driving an audi than a mercedes. well I hate to say this but I miss the european life.

Surprised by the number of original Mini Coopers in near mint condition you find running around the Septieme (Rive Gauche) of Paris. Unfortunately I drove a Megane at the time.

Thats also here in the Netherlands, most taxi's are Mercedes....
