Best ECU tune for c350
I know this has been posted many times over again, but I cannot decide on what to get.
I'm looking for maximum gains for ECU tune that isnt too pricey. Also, i'd PREFER to not mail in my ECU. I live in Northern NJ and i'm not sure if any shops can do an ECU tune around here.
None the less, can someone send some recommendations my way please.
Thanks
-Michael

I have the Powerchip tune , they have new software that bumps the old tune up another 5 hp too . I'm very happy with my tune . Had to mail it in but in but got it back in time . I know tuning technology out here on long island does ecu tuning I'm pretty sure it's OE tuning software . From what I have read OE tuning and Powerchip are the two best to go with .

If you don't mind driving to NY, I have dealers there that can flash while you wait.
Dynograph of before and after, wHP & wTq attached. Car belongs to a forum member, no mods running CA91 pump gas.
Please PM me for more details.
Regards,
Jeremy

I'm still looking to get this tune as well once I'm done with all my cosmetic mods! (Or maybe if I win that raffle this saturday cough cough )
But yeah, here's the video anyways. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3s2dYtlGUk The owner of the C350 (although it is a W203) posted in the comments that it feels significantly improved after the tune. The dyno that Jeremy attached has me sold as well.

That dyno posted is for the W203, and is only posting 215 whp. If I only was getting 215 hp off my Carlsson tune I would cry everytime I drove my car. Just don't buy a powerchip, because **** that company. Carlsson is one of the few tuners that warranty your engine for 3 years. Don't think that matters? Just ask our member from Dominican Republic about his ECU tune blowing up his engine and how happy Mercedes is to warranty that. I don't think we've seen anyone get the W204 tuned and not be happy with it, so don't stress picking the right one, just find something close and convenient for you. The only reason I tuned with Carlsson was because I was getting a package, and because of their warranty. The fact I was an hour and a half from their headquarters in Germany only made things easier.

Jeremy thanks for the info. Where abouts in NY? L.I?
What kind of gains would I expect with an 08 c350? Also, not sure if you can discuss on the open forum so if anything please pm me, but what are the prices involved? I'll hit your website shortly.
Thanks again.

I'm not really into online bickering but just this once I'll fall for it . What I had said was " from I have read " . Perhaps the one in need of higher learning is you considering you lack the ability to socialize on a web forum like a big boy and instead attack people for their comments which you dont fully understand (not that it takes a genius to read a statement in context ) as if this forum was a kids playground and you dropped your chocolate milk . Don't bother responding as this is the last time I will be participating in the aspect of the thread .

But yeah, on a more serious note! All in all, for our NA cars, without headers, filters, or exhaust, we won't be seeing many gains. I'd say around 10hp/10tq +/- 5hp/tq I guess. In addition to that there are claims of improved throttle response and better fuel economy.
I'd been set on getting the OE tune for a while but honestly, I don't think it'll be quite worth it without exhaust/header mods to go with it. Maybe you should consider getting a tune once the sale season comes around and they drop prices!

Normally sometime around Christmas and New Years. Maybe a bit before like during Thanksgiving. I'd say it's worth the wait! I might get one should I feel like I have extra $$ to spend :3

I have the OEtune and I got it at 1k miles on my 2011 C350. U do get a little performance boost, most guys feel alot of difference because ur ECu gets reset with the flash and it feels peppier too. I had my car dyno'd b4 and after and with the bnc filters and meisterschaft exhause I gained 19 hp overall. Now the dyno used is a POS trailer dyno by a local guy here in NJ, but theres def a little gain to be had. I would wait until they have a special, thats why I jumped on it and I was pulling half my interior that week to do my system anyway so it worked perfectly, didnt go without my car cause of the mail to and back. As for warranty nobody in US will warranty a tune except a MB dealer, there is one in TX that does tunes and will not void your warranty. search and you will find that post by a member.

I had the powerchip tune previously. It made a slight difference, but unfortunately it made my car stall on the freeway. I had the software removed and now the car no longer stalls with the factory software. Be careful, its pretty dangerous to have your car lose power on the freeway at 80 MPH!
