No fan

No fan

No heater fan, which is no fun in our weather right now.

Anyone know if there is a separate blower fuse. The fuse guide mentions only one fuse (No 12) for the whole heat/ac system - which works, except for the blower - so I guess that fuse is OK

Have I missed an oddly named fuse or is the blower shot?

I had the same problem on another make car. The relay under the dash was bad. Took 10 min to change. I am not sure where the relay is for your model. Maybe someone will chime in and give you the location

Thanks guys.

Solved the problem - opened the fan cover, all was warm and dry, but the fan was very stiff to move by hand. Moved it back and forth till it freed up and voila, heat. Probably some long standing and growing corrosion problem, - I will try for a new motor under warranty.

See if you can put a little light machine oil on the spindle bearings .

For those fans where the bearings are accessible (not ours) the MB preferred lubricant has always been ATF.

I reckon you could use a flexible long spouted oil can to access the verticle shaft under the impellor . Oil on the shaft should run down to the bearing. If water is entering the bearing seizing it up a little light oil should free it up & lubricate it also .
