Are both exterior rear view mirrors the same?

Are both exterior rear view mirrors the same?
I noticed on my 2011 C300, left side mirror has a fine line all around, about a quarter inch from the edge. Right side mirror does not have it. And, I think left side mirror looks a little darker than the right side during the day, wonder if it's the autodimming feature which the right side does not have.

Just read the manual and now I know the left side mirror has auto dim. So I guess the fine line on the mirror must be the light sensor.
