u can extend them and retract them. im sure they are.
when i got my car one was more extended than the other so last month i made them even. i think u can also remove them.

I have been told it is just a torx holding the tip on. I haven't tried it yet I want to find a black or black chrome tip to try first.

yes its just torx screws holding them, very easy to remove

on my c350 it was one small torx easily visibly from under the car. remove it and wiggle it off.

'11 C350 '13 F150 lariat
you can remove them with the torx screw but the factory 2.25 inch pipe coming out of the back of muffler gets bigger and oval under the tip so you cant see thru the tip from the big. Its like an oblong flair. If you wanna put new tips on they wont fit unless you cut the exhaust near the muffler. You can only replace with the same tips if you dont wanna cut
