Angry Tire pressure and backup camera

MB dealer says that the reason my tire pressure monitor fails intermittently is because I installed a (non-factory) backup camera.

I think they don't know how to fix it and so jumped on the only non-standard part of the car as the problem.

is the back up camera wireless?

I understand the tpms are, so that is the only way they could interfere, is if the are on similar wavelengths.

I could be wrong. There are much smarter people at mbworld that may have a solid answer.

No, it is wired, and it worked for 7 weeks without a hitch before the TPM started going bonkers. We will disconnect the camera, and I'll drive the car for a while, and the TPM problem will come back. If the dealer is rational, he will say, "OK, so I guess it wasn't the camera". If they are truly crazy, they will say that the camera caused a problem, but a second TPM problem arose independently. Stay tuned...

hahah i love these loony answers the dealerships give you when they don't want to fix something. They think that you know nothing about the car and thus will believe them!
