My new C300 Sport 4Matic has slightly less than 400 miles on it's odometer. Since I drove it home from the dealer I have noticed what I believe is a slight engine coolant odor, inside the car, when the heater is running. When the AC is running, I don't smell the odor. I can't detect any leaks.

Anyone else notice this?

Haven't smelled hot coolant inside of car, but can smell it on outside after parking car. was told no problem found at first service 8/11. Still getting oder. Another service appointment this month. I haven't seen any leaks or coolant loss, gauges show normal. smell is strongest over radiator.

I have experienced this pungent smell when the car was new, probably for the first 12 to 18 months. I noticed it when parked hot in an enclosed garage. At the time I checked with the MB mechanic who said it was normal.

In my opinion it is the smell of hot rubber coolant hoses.

After having the car now for four years , I do not notice it.

i have the same problem i smell hot coolant and rubber in front of the car around the radiator, no leaks of any type car running normal is just the odor that i don't like.

It will dissipate in time There are worse smells especially in the horse & buggy era.
