sub and amp install
I am going to install a sub and amp in my trunk next week. The professional wants to do line level inputs to the amp from the back speakers. I am worried the amp is going to mess with the stock speakers and maybe even the car's electrical system. Should I be worried?

mine was connected to the factory amp and i had issues with the amp overheating/blowing fuses and then voltage issues. but others have been fine with their set-ups

that's normal to do it this way, shouldn't be a problem at all. You have to use a line level input either way so where it's located doesn't really make a difference.

Subwoofer input: if its DIY taking the signal from the right rear speaker, for under 150 hZ it hardly matters, and run it to meet up with the hot 12V line at the right side of the trunk.
For a pro install, might as well get the full Monte with the line level outputs.
Of course you are going to replace the stock speakers with Infinity Kappa's (unless you are adding a sub to the HK)?

If you have HK you can tap in the trunk for sub input, the stock sub in middle is dual voice coil, just steal it from there and eliminate its power, you have real subs now.
If you have basic audio, you can either install a low level adapter behind the head unit and run RCAs thru the car, OR you can jump from the rear speakers in the B pillar or below them. I did B pillars on mine. The head unit comes out w special tool or a wire clothes hanger with the proper bends, if you search theres a thread showing removal in the DIY area
I used a MTX reQ so I could add another amp and did it in the trunk so I could adjust it otherwise I would have done the head unit in back
