My wife got into an accident with her 2008 sport W204 yesterday and the front bumper is pretty much destroyed. I am wondering how difficult to have the body shop to convert the bumper to the 2011 with the LED light?

The concern I have is it a simple light swap between the fog and LED and can the dealer to reprogrammed the new LED light to be DRL? Also will it cause any error on the dash?

Anyone know? Thanks!

 

Headlight switch is different so the wiring harness will also be different. There have been claims but no pics of people replacing fogs with 2011 OEM 204 LEDs.

 

Take it to the dealership and ask them for a quote to do the swap, that way you at least know everything Mercedes would do for the swap. You might even be able to turn in the quote to your insurance company and get it approved when they overlook the parts swap.

I did that with a discontinued part from Germany on my jetta... WORKED LIKE A CHARM!!!

 

Just called my Service Advisor and he is definitely against it. He said no one has done this retrofit in his dealership and it is not going to be a simple swap.

I am wondering can I just have the body shop to hotwire the new LED DRL since my wife doesn't mind LED is always on. Also, is there way the computer will not throw out an error code if the original fog lights are no longer there.

 

Hey, wherected did you find a 2011 c class bumper with LED fog lights? How much was it? I just bough a 2011 c300 4matic sport and the front bumper is pretty beat up.
