2011 C350 w/o HK has 8 speakers????

From the MBZ USA site.....

8 speakers? one center, two front door, two A pillar tweets, two rear door, and one sub?

So all 2001's have a sub?

Can I just replace the sub? If so, what will work as a direct replacement?

Nope, thats wrong. I tore my interior apart doing my install and theres 8 speakers and theyre the same junk in audio 20, just have the MM screen and nav. as follows:

tweeter pair in mirror housing
woofer pair 6.5s in front doors
coaxial 6.5s in rear doors meaning woofer tweeter combo

thats it. NO REAR SPEAKERS in deck and NO CENTER. I popped the vent cover just to see. empty. my 2008 had 12 w HK and the HK has DSP and a 450w amp I investigated that car too doing my sub install. the 2010 and up w MM screen and no HK are called audio 50 and the dealer claimed BOSE system. Its BS same speakers and crap as the audio 20, no amp just the "amplified" head unit

you either use a lowpass converter at the back of the headunit if your comfy taking it out and jump the speaker wires there and make them RCAs and go to the back of the car with that or jump the rear doors near the B pillar and take those to the back. Thats your only choice. I will recommend using some type of highend converter, I did a regular one and wasnt happy, the head unit clips teh bass so the louder u turn it only the highs get louder, bass doesnt match at high sound, not bad but Im picky. Use a RE-Q or a JL cleansweep. I have a brand new RE-Q if you need one. Look them up on crutchfield or google. Theres other brands, depends on what your trying to do and how far you wanna go

yeah I would go that route. I did a regular lowpass converter and it sounded kinda crappy, my new C doesnt have HK like last one. I did a ReQ and it sounded way better. I might go as far as a JLcleansweep, only thing I dont like is having to use the JL knob, the ReQ isnt as advanced but doesnt use a secondary volume control
