Trailer Hitch

I'd like to install a hitch to put a bike carrier on my car. I ordered the one from Curts. It seemed to be high quality, but did not fit my car which is an '09 C300 sport. The car shown in the instructions was a luxury model. The problem was that the hitch which mounts on the bumper beam would not clear the diffuser -- wonder if the ht is different from that in the luxury model.

What other hitches have owners used?

Or, what bumper mounted bike carriers?

THx!

This is my MB installed tow bar in Australia. The Europeanfold away tow bar does not conform to Australian Standards so MB has a contractor making the towbars in Melbourne. My bike rack fits.

You bumper looks like the "Luxury" model here in US. The "Sport" model has a diffuser which goes lower and probably will interfere with the fitment.

Hey Carsy, that looks like a nice setup. Can you tell me how much it all cost?

Sentosa,

The MB dealer quoted me A$1500 fitted to the new car including wiring & computer reprograming.

It may be cheaper direct from the manufacturer.

The tongue pulls out & is replaced by a plastic cover.

Carsey.

c 200 (W203) Towbar

Sorry guys I'm new to this forum thing and seemingly could not find out how to post a new message so had to reply to yours!

I have a W203 Sedan and I'm looking for a decent looking towbar. i.e. one you can't see (or almost can't see) when not in use. The euro "plug in" ones look great but can't get them here apparently.

Do you know of any? I saw someone mention Trimotive. Any others near Brisbane?? I really don't want some big ugly thing hanging out the back of my car.
