Help I just drove my W204 for a kilometer with parking brake on

Hi everyone I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I just got my first ever Mercedes C250 on road few days ago and still not used to the foot parking brake design. And what happened today was I drove my car for about a kilometer with the parking brake on until I stopped at a traffic light and realised the warning light on dash board. T_T
Just wondering would the main braking system be damaged and should I take my car to the dealership to get it checked up? I think the parking brake was applied about 4 - 5 "clicks" deep.

Didn't the center dash display turn red to warn you? I've done this going down my driveway but quickly noticed because of this.

Little chance of damage to the brake system, even if you smelled some hot brake pad. The 7G transmission can hold the car on a slight grade, so when parking on a flat dont even bother to use the emergency brake. Save the cables for when your brakes actually fail or if you are parked on a steeper incline.

Even if you are parked on an incline, there is a "Hill-start assist system" that will apply the brakes on startup, until you press the accelerator, either in Drive or in Reverse.

Congrats on your C250, ALL MB engines should have this kind of performance - 204 HP from a 1.8L engine and 229 lb-feet of torque, MORE torque than the C300, same acceleration and should handle better because of the 216 lbs in weight saved. Imagine 4 bags of concrete on your W204's hood!!! Thats the different in weight between the C300 and the C250.

Been there. My Bro borrowed my older car and when he came back, he complained it had no pep ... I could see the heat waves comming off the rear wheels.

Check the rear axle seals for any leakage. I had to replace them, but that was a different design.

On my 2007C the parking brake is a small drum & shoe affair on the inside of the main solid disc & pads.

I also have an audible alarm if I start with the parking brake engaged.

Yes I think the alert and warning were on but I was just too busy with the sat nav display, and it was only the third time I drive my car since I got it .

Contacted the dealer today and they advied there shouldn't be any problem but for peace of mind I can let them have a look.

There is nothing to look at without removing the rear discs.
