I also need to add a comment on OE wheels. We had OE 18" wheels as part of the AMG Sport Package on our E350. All four wheels bent over Michigan winter driving. When we had the new PowerWheels Pro 817s installed, the owner of our local independent high end shop (BMW, MB, Porsche, etc.) told me he gets an incredible over-representation of that particular OE wheel among all damaged wheels, and described them as "soft". He showed me a few of the very same type of wheel which happened to be there at the time, bent, and piled up in the back of the shop.
The bottom line is that MB does not make wheels. Just as all other vehicle manufacturers, they source them from a variety of international wheel producer companies, and yes, some are located in China. The eventual end user experience is not dependent on whether the wheels were sold by MB at their stratospheric prices, but whether the wheels were well designed and produced and carry TUV, JWL, and/or ISO 9001 certification which relate to the quality of the design, development, and production processes. The two sets I bought for my cars do.

I don't have first hand info, but I would be very surprised to know the OE standard wheels on our E and C were forged and not either pressure or gravity cast due to manufacturing cost vs. contribution to vehicle sales incrementality, as well as due to the apparent frequency of damage to this particular wheel model on the E, as observed by our indy shop. In any event, I now have sets of pressure cast wheels for 3 season and winter usage on two vehicles and have suffered no damage to date, with the first of those wheels now in its second year of operation. I will continue to examine for damage at each year's winter on/off swap.

I bought a non-staggered set-up for my C Class from PowerWheels Pro, and kept my staggered tires. I cannot find the slightest issue apart from the theoretical, and suspension performance is one of my primary concerns. I got such great service from Vassili, I recently bought a second set of wheels for our E Class and when, indeed, there was an issue with one of the four wheels, he immediately and graciously swapped it out. Outstanding customer service!

Thanks guys, I'm loving them the ride is smooth. My stock tires only had about 30% left in em so it is a huge improvement. Now time for some coils! The lugs are M14x1.5 28mm thread shank, cone seat.
