New 2011 C300

Hey everyone.

I picked up a brand new artic white c300 a few weeks ago. I love the car. I think it's by far the most beautiful car in its class. Maybe not in the performance department but it's definitely a head turner and I've gotten a lot of complements on it.

Now, my question, is the gas consumption on the c300 really this bad? I've read through a lot of posts where people are getting 17-18 mpg in the city. I wish I could have that kind of mpg. Since reset (which is from when I picked up the car) I'm getting 12.8 mpg!! I do mostly city driving in brooklyn but still, I expected more.

This car eats as much as as my dad's 12 year old V8 Toyota land cruiser. Should I be concerned about this or is this just because of the break in period? I drive in the E mode. The car has 355 miles on it and went through 2 full tanks of gas already.

Thanks

I was averaging about 22 with my new 2011, but it's been getting better as it's breaking in (I now get around 24-25 with mixed driving).

Are you constantly flooring it?

I get around 24-25 with mixed driving too. On long highway trips I can average 29-32 MPG. I would take it back to the dealer, something is not right.

I put super in her and I never floor it. I have no idea what's going on. The fact that my dad's old suv gets better mileage than my car is just weird.

i live in nyc too and average around 11-16mpg. The only time I get to the 20mpgs is if i put on cruise control on the GCP.

i think getting 12 mpg is a little low, but it's not out of the ordinary depending on your driving. a lot of stop and go and short distances will kill your gas. my uncles GL450 only got 9 mpg living in Queens. i dont think living in brooklyn would make much of a difference.

congrats! the 2011 C300's honestly have one of the good MPGs out there a three hour drive to Monterey only consumed a lil above 1/2 a tank for me ranging at about 70-80mph

New cars need time to run in... I still find my car having variable consumption at 700km's.

Don't want to be a thread-jacker, but get to DelMar in Sheepshead Bay...and then we can talk.

Went back there on my last trip to NY, and they still reign supreme!
