Multimedia plus question

New to the forums and have been searching around trying to figure out a question about this MMP that's available, but I've read cinflicting posts.

I have the factory option 512 in a 2008 c350 (big screen, hd nav, etc...) but can't control my iPod through that screen (just plain aux input cable). The first thread I read said absolutely you can not just buy and plug 'n play the option 518 (for MMP) on any 08 vehicles. Then I read one saying you can if you have the option 512 installed.

So which is it, new forum friends; am I able to do an easy upgrade to the 518 or am I out of luck?

TIA

Check out MBUSA's official MMP homepage that breaks down car w/ options if you are eligible for it or not:

http://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/servic...ts/accessories

It's right there on the main page.

P.S. I believe you are actually takling about the MB MIP not MMP. Which is the Multimeda Interface Plus option.

If thats the case follow the link. an even shorter link to the vehicle eligibilty matrix go here:

http://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/DigitalA...x_7_1_2011.pdf

it looks like W204's prior to 2010 are not eligible.

There are some conflicting responses - according to one of the PDFs, it does appear MY 2010+ are eligible, whereas another PDF link in the same section also shows MY 2009 as falling under the eligibility matrix.
