warrenty

If I were to do any exterior mods on the car would the warrenty still be intact?

It should not and will not void your warranty. However depending on the exterior mods you do for obvious reasons those mods would not be covered under a factory warranty. IE; you replace halogen bulbs with HID's. MB will not cover your HID's or any damage caused to wiring, etc caused by the HID's (Though proving that would be difficult - if you remove the HID's and put back in the OEM bulbs for instance).

So goes for any car warranty. Add a turbo and it blows up the engine it won't
be covered under warranty.

As a side note, Dealers are always looking for a reason to not include something or fix it under warranty so be smart if something does go wrong by returning the car to stock as best you can - at least IMO. It gives them less reason to start a "this is why its not covered" bull****. Also this advise is solely from my own experience working with MBUSA Dealers. Use at your own risk.

I believe what icanectc said is correct.
However from another point of view, does dealer make money by performing warranty work then collect money from MB? If a mod is not that crazy and is in the gray area, a 'bad' dealer will say it's under warranty... Ignore what I just said.

I would strongly assume dealers do get paid by MB Corp for warranty work. However just like with any for profit organization it is not in there interest to do warranty work if they can find a reason not to (MB corporate). Hence why they make you sign more paperwork than during the homebuying process. Also most likely they will get paid MORE from a car owner rather than MB Corporate. Most likely MB corporate has set what they pay for each type of warrantable service no more no less and this is most likely discounted drastically. But I will say this I have owned a few other cars besides MB's and for the MB dealers I have dealt with from Miami to Charlotte to DC they have generally been quite fair to me about whats warrantable issues I have come up with they have even gone above and beyond in certain situations doing the repair work completely free of charge even though they didn't need to - granted it was very minor it goes along with for customer service IMO compared to other car manufacturers /cough /cough nissan - they wouldn't replace a LUG nut as a courtesy
