MB C300 2015
Cracked Leather 15000 miles car

Can someone explain to me why a visibly cracked, not cut, driver side leather seat for an MB 2015 C300 with 15000 miles only is not covered under warranty
i have a feeling it a dealer decision not the factory?

thanks for your help and advice!

It never hurts to call the customer service number and appeal. To be snide, they may not cover knowing that you have a fat wallet in your back pocket that cause the cracking.

GLK 350 has the same problem with ripping driver seat

GLK 350 2013 eighty thousand miles - front driver bottom seat ripping in the seem. I have never seen something like that in japanese or other brand cars. My original 300E 1989 - 300 thousand miles - no issues with upholstery. Dealer offered to replace part for labour cost $340.00. I see many complaints on this forum with quality of MB upholstery Are we going to give up on quality just to drive MECEDES??????????

Hard to disagree. That said, if you're a do-it-your-selfer, see if they'll comp the new part to you and install it yourself. Having done this myself on my w211 drivers seat a few years ago, the dealer offer is not bad. I also took the opportunity to get a new seat cushion.

Just came back from Hawaii where I had these delivered to my Hotel shipped from China. They wouldn't ship to Australia. The fit is good and they are a cheap alternative to getting the OEM bottom cushion which I may get before I sell. The color is not a great match, but I got two so it doesn't look too out of place. I doubt if too many people would notice the difference. I would recommend getting these sooner rather than later to protect the bottom cushions since we are having so much trouble with the bottoms.

EClass Inferior MBTex Vinyl Seating

I’ve been reviewing over 5 years of E Class owners’ disappointments in the inferior vinyl seating material in this forum.

Mercedes calls it MB-Tex or ARTICO.
I call it Crap.

I had the top upholstery shop in San Francisco
repair my seam split drivers seat (2011 E350 212 Wagon) with a factory replacement @ $500 cost & then spent $600 for Sheepskin covers to protect the driver & passenger seats.

I speculate that the knee airbags under the dash
have changed the seat angle, as getting in & out of this Wagon causes one to squirm across the bottom cushions, adding to the strain on this inferior vinyl.

I’ve owned 5 E’s over 25 years, all with leather
interiors, all looking perfect after YEARS of usage.
Granted, I had Detailing done every year with
leather cleaning & conditioning by my local MB
Detailer.

I have that Detailer searching for a like-color
beige leather interior from a salvage E350 to take out the lousy vinyl & put in genuine leather!
