Eng Menu Backup Camera - options
In the Engineering Menu on my C2008 C350(nav, 7" display), the options for the backup camera are :
not intalled
SRVC
DRVM
DRVM-PSC
What do the last three mean?
Isn't there an available backup camera input on this year's model even though it's not a factory option for that year? I see backup camera systems out there that have video interface boxes of sorts and am wondering if you really need those electronics to interface to the unit? My thought process was that if you can activate it in COMAND, and the unit has the video input for the backup camera, then you'd only need the camera and appropriate wiring harness for it. Could it be that easy???
Thanks in advance.

there are a few existing threads on this topic already, so make sure u search for details, but yes it's that easy, you do not need any additional modules other then the camera, its inputs (FAKRA plug) and wiring for power.
Enable SRVC and your done.

I have SRVC enabled and no guide lines.... My 2014 Passat has guide lines...Mercedes > VW....so why dont I have lines?

I prefer no lines. Those lins are from camera, that can be or not be adequate to our cars.
What i do and suggest is that you leave seen on screen a little of the rear bumper. That way you have full control of the rear and can control with max space available without hitting the rear bumper.
Much better than lines and even rear parking sensors (those alarm at 30 cm distance).
With this little trick, you can have at almost 0 distance, without hitting the rear bumper.

Seems like such an old thread but hey....it got me wondering. Can you adjust the angle of the backup camera? I feel like mine could use an adjust. Thanks!!!
