How can I pause my iPod (w/ iPod Integration kit)

I have the iPod Integration kit built-in (the black cable with the white connector), and I can change songs, select playlists etc from my steering wheel / instrument cluster (doesn't show any iPod information on the COMAND screen, just the instrument cluster), but I have yet to figure out how to pause my iPod!

When I hit Mute, it simply cuts out the volume but doesn't pause the track. It's very annoying when I'm listening to a podcast / audiobook etc or just want to pick up a song where I left off. Also, I can't find how to rewind/forward a song if I want to go back a few seconds instead of restarting the whole song.

Any clues? I searched this forum and googled it but didn't find much help. It's driving me nuts!

Edit: Just to clarify, my iPod is NOT connected to the AUX 3.5mm audio-in jack. It's connected to the iPod connector.

See if this helps :

http://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/DigitalA...Kit_Manual.pdf

Press and hold the up / down buttons to fast forward / rewind.

There is no "pause", but switch to radio or cd, then mute, and when you come back to the iPod it will resume from where it left off...

Thanks Nick!

Too bad they didn't think of a way to directly pause the ipod track. Also, I can't hit pause directly on the ipod either when it's tethered (it behaves like it's locked, showing just the MB star logo).

Also pauses automatically when answering a Bluetooth phone. When the call is through and you hang up, resumes play at the same point as before.

Does it really? How about when you make a call over bluetooth?

Most of my grief is typically over it continuing to play in background (muted of course) while I'm on a call.

I gets dozens of call in my C300, and have the iPod integration kit and over 5300 tunes on an iPod Classic. The iPod plays always from the last point before the call was answered. I was surprised that I didnt miss a beat.

This is very interesting. On Friday, while listening to a track, I got a phone call. Answered using the steering wheel answer button. Brought my instrument cluster back to "Audio" to see what my iPod was playing. While I was on the call, I saw two tracks go by on the instrument cluster. As you can guess, when I hung up, I was two tracks past where I answered the call.

I have a second generation iPod Nano in my '09 C300. I wonder if this related to either my iPod being an older generation or the MY 2009 integration.

edit: I also made a call that evening to test how it handles when I make an outbound call from the car while listening to an iPod track. Same results.

When you turn off your car, and turn it on again does the iPod begin in the sample place? And what happens when you push the On/Off button on the radio. Could be a characteristic of the iPod Nano, that functions differently from the iPod Classic I have.

Let me check again but as I recall, when I start my car it picks up from where I turned the car off. I have noticed that if I switch to a different audio mode (such as radio), then it "pauses" so I can pick up where I left off when I go back to the iPod.
