I think the first one is the Anti-Benz.
The second is sad. Stock base wheels (not even the AMG's) and those ugly chrome door handles. They didn't even bother to wrap the headlight washers and the mirrors.
FAIL!

Actually the neat thing about the MATTE finish is how it FEELS. Worth the trip down to your MB dealer if they have a vehicle at the showroom with this fabulous finish. Check it out if you can. Anyone agree?

Putting a matte black wrap over a light or contrasting color paint (in this case silver) is not the best idea unless the wrap installation is done perfectly. I'm sure you're going to see the silver through the door, hood and trunk seams in bright daylight, and it would look terrible when you open the doors.
Real matte paint is the only way to go in terms of quality, durability and like what Acapulco Bill said the way it feels.
There was an SLS in the showroom of my dealership with the factory Designo Alanite Gray (a medium gray) Magno matte paint and the finish felt silky smooth and leaves no fingerprints! Not the best color for a matte finish as it looks dusty or like primer paint, but it is unique.
I saw an SL63 IWC edition in a Designo Cashmere White Magno matte paint (with matte carbon fibre trim) and it looks amazing. The color was a creamy pearl white which looks the best in the matte finish without looking primer cheap.

Stitches, the local dealer in a couple of months have sold 3 SLS AMG with the copper-tone matte finish. THAT is the finish I was referring to (not the crummy job in the photo). Everyone should really just go and check out this finish. Maybe it never has to be washed!

Zero knowledge in this area - but how can you guys tell it is a crappy wrap job on the car pictured - I see it is dirty and rained on, but what looks bad about the wrap? Just curious...

Matte black done well makes me think of batmobiles or stealth fighters... Something sleek or stealthy...
If it had blacked out chrome covers (maybe they are covering the usual scratches?) and a set of black rims on it I bet it would have gotten more positive feedback.
My two cents is that car is far from finished, maybe it's someone who doesn't have the budget (or time away from car) to do EVERYTHING at once. Not many people do. I'm sure it will be done soon and will look smokin' in the end. Would be funny if it were a member's car, but then we'd get some answers and give him our two cents.
On second thought, I am definite that the Dodge pictured is from Paramus, NJ... LOL surprised I haven't seen him around. Will keep an eye out.

I can't put a finger on it but that CLS just looks wrong. Light colored rims, chrome door handles, and then the black matte... it just doesn't go well together. Very very gaudy. The unfinished vents, side mirrors, and headlamp washers are eyesores...

the matte merc had so many mismatched colors poking out that it looked pretty akward in person too. like someone said above, if youre gonna go matte, you need to go ALL the way
