Pushing all the buttons seems to work for me.
Make sure the iPhone has bluetooth enabled, then search for the phone through COMAND. When it is found pair them using the same (any) 4 number code on the phone, then on the car. You may have to authorize the phone to get it to connect everytime without going to the phone and clicking "yes".
There is also an "external authorization" button under "options" in the bluetooth phone memo.
I was told that if the car cannot find the phone, try to find the car from the phone.
