Best Bulb to match 2012 DRL

Hope this helps. Just a heads up, you need to search to find the Diamond Visions as they do not sell them in the US.

Do you (or anyone) know the actual color temperature of the 2012 LED DRL's?

The MTEC Cosmo Blue is 4750K and the Diamond Visions are 5000K and MTEC Pure White are 4350K.

I have the stock Halogen yellowish color and I would like to more closely match the color of DRL's without becoming one of those cars you see coming up behind with the lights that are way too bright. I don't want to draw attention to my speeding, but I hate how yellow my headlights look next to the LED DRL's.

Hi, Was your C black around the windows from the factory or did you replace/paint the chrome?

They both match the color of the DRLs. Neither is very bright as they are halogens and the more tint you add to make it whiter, the less light gets through - so you want the brightest ones possible. Go with the DV - they are brighter (still less bright then most yellow halogens).

Amen... I'm dealing with the same thing right now. When is your car supposed to be built?

I didn't even get that level of detail. Salesman just said "your target delivery date is 2nd week of February, but I'm trying to expedite" bla bla something about possibly moving up in the priority since the car is sold. You're motivating me to find out my exact build date. Do you know yours?

Mine's supposed to be built the 3rd decade of January(so probably the end of January) according to my salesman. They estimate a mid February delivery, which doesn't make a lot of sense to me. From everything I can gather, after the ships leave East London, they travel around the horn of Africa, up to Europe and then across the Atlantic, down the east coast, through the Panama canal, and up the west coast. When I ordered my smart, it was on the ship for like 2 weeks alone coming from Bremerhaven to Baltimore so the timelines don't really add up.

I'm working with someone I know from my smart forum who is good at tracking to figure out the shipping routes and such, and once I get the Bill of Lading for my car I should be able to track it. I'll start following up with my sales guy in the 2nd week of January to see if he has my VIN and will go from there.

What is the absolute brightest bulb that I could put in as the high-beam?

Here's the latest:
Mr. D,

The coupes are manufactured in Germany and I believe the factory is in
Bremen.

Your vehicle's production will finalize end of January and will be here
middle of February. Everything is going on smooth for the moment.

Kind Regards,

Joseph

Whatever. I'm going into 'passive waiting' mode.

Thank you,
I had these in my SLK and I liked them. They're 4000k so it's whiter and brighter than the OEM bulbs.

I have them too now and I like them. They're not close to the 5000K OEM lights but they also do allow a good portion of light on the road which is nice. They are a bit more blue than OEM and it looks decent. I tried the xtreme whites and they were identical to stock output and stock color. The OEM bulbs and reflectors arent bad at all for throwing light.

cheers! Mike
