Am I reading the accessory packages correctly in that the car doesn't come with a CD player or USB/SD slot unless you order the command package?

That high-end HK stereo doesn't come with a CD player standard?!

 

It does have a CD player standard

 

The MM (I assume that is the High end you are speaking of) does not have a CD player it has a 6 disc DVD player. Which will of course play CDs.

 

Which as of right now, supposedly you cannot order. You can only order the COMAND S32 or COMAND S34 launch packages (the difference being a 1 disc or a 6 disc CD player)

 

The launch package COMAND unit plays DVDs. It's the exact same unit as the MM package, just without some of the MM features like reverse camera.

 

I found that it still has a CD player without COMAND. (I use my phone for Nav.) Command adds DVD (and NAV).

 

Yes, of course the standard system (Audio 20) plays CDs! The other options are standalone COMAND which plays single disc DVD/CD or 6 DVD/CD changer, and Multi Media option. COMAND does a bit more than add DVD and NAV functions, and it also adds includes a larger screen.

I don't see where it specifically states it contains a CD player. Could you be a little more specific about the location or provide a link.

 

Hmmm you're right - they don't mention it. But I think that is because it's so obvious. They don't state that it has windows or tires, same sort of mindset applies to the CD player, FM radio, etc

Also, it's worth mentioning that many of the details about the car on MBUSA are very wrong. They don't even know about the car they're selling. For example, it says that there is a compass in the rear view mirror standard - not on mine. They also state that the Adaptive brakes and LED tail lights are only available on the C250, which is a load of crap, it's standard on all of them (http://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/vehicl.../bodystyle-SDN). The list goes on from there...

 

Yes, I noticed that too. It's unbecoming of MB. They need to do better.
