Have American cars really become this irrelevant? 
Surely they could have matched it against the GL or G class wagons with 8-cylinder powerplants? Or would they have been embarrassed? Heck, with 6.2 liters of displacement they should be racing the AMG variants.

I actually found that clip to be quite amusing. It's obvious the C300 is a slug of a car, there's no need to defend it. The Escalade is a 6000 pound truck. I know it's not a straight comparison, but in the real world it is. It's good to know that if you're driving a C300...DO NOT PULL IN FRONT OF A ESCALADE. lolz

The 2012 C350 is NA and it has 302 horsepower, so I wouldn't say they don't have horsepower. Mercedes is always late to the horsepower game. When BMW came out with the 3.0 liter engine making 255 horsepower, mercedes stuck with the 3.2 liter engine making 215 horsepower. They did that across the board for all engines.

I think MB she create a rebuttle tv comercial which shows the exact same race with the exact same results only after the race both vehicles have to drive a 350 mile stretch of road with no gas stations on it and see which vehicle gets there first.

My 07 GL450 has smoked several new Escalades before on the highway and on local roads. Cadillac failed hardcore by not comparing their escalade vs another full size competitor Mercedes GL class of any sort.
We all know the C300 is slow. But too bad Cadillac would've gotten embarrased by any GL450 and GL550.
Cadillac has stooped this low. They suck ***** as a brand.

How stupid, A German spec C300 has a top speed of around 155mph and even a C180 4 banger has a top speed of 140.The Caddy would get raped over here on the German Autobahn. I was home in NY on leave this past summer and had a V6 Caddy SRX rental and what a piece of crap it was. It had no *****, had to almost kill it to even get up a hill, the motor and tranny were terrible. If all Caddys are like the SRX then Caddy has a long way to go.

. And one more Q why was the distance so short? the 300 would probably have won Nothing wrong with a c300 I drove one of them when the c36 was in the shop, it is a fine cruiser no need for turbo's.

Lol, this is just stupid. Mercedes could turn around and do the same thing with the new GL550, 0-60 in about 6 seconds, vs 3.0L CTS sedan 4wd which does it between 6.5 and 7 seconds...
Heck, if they were so confident, they should have had the 3.0L CTS up there against the c300... But then they would be competing with the wrong model, put the base e-class up there and you'll see the cts will get walked... SMH cadillac.
