I test drove a GTI w/ DSG back in 2008. I had studied the DSG, and was anxious to give it a try. With agreement from sales guy, I pushed it real hard through a twisty road ( I have 10+ years of HPDE's (high speed racing, with no passing at curves) burned in my brain, and KNOW how to push it hard).
Even w/o mods, it was fantastic, but MB does not have a competitive car at that price point, and will not in the future, as they cater to a different driver.
Cons: I found the GTI with DSG had choppy shifting in auto mode, vs the MB 7spd auto that is like a manual with smooth auto-shifts.

[QUOTE=kevink2;4919880]I went from driving a 522 RWHP/ 498'lbs of torque at the rear wheels Cobra to a stock C300 Sport. I had a tune applied by PowerChip which has made a world of difference.

I'm running a PowerChip remapping on my ECU and couldn't be more pleased considering I went from 522 RWHP to stock C300 Sport. The PowerChip tune has made a hell of a lot of difference. I also got the Premium 93 octane tune. Not everyone gets 93 octane though. The left coast only has 91.
But some of the "difference" is from a more aggressive pedal vs throttle mapping. Even a linear relation is more agressive vs oem.

I don't believe there would be enough to warrant me paying for roller time. I can feel the difference.

Oh please. Sprint boosters don't give you ANY power gains. They just give you more aggressive throttle tip so that less peddle gives you more throttle. Its like changing the volume knob on your stereo and saying now it goes all the way to 11.
It's a fine line then, in'nit?

So I have a 09 c230 [2.5 v6] and after reading all this, i'm guessing ecu isn't gonna make my car any faster. any one have an idea how to improve performance preferably under 1k?

You'll get an improvement, but it's not going to be substantial. If you do intake, exhaust, and ecu, you'll be getting somewhere but its still not going to be huge. Plus it'll cost 1/3 of what the cars worth to do all that.
