Thoughts?

I like putting European plates on the cars that we have from Germany frankly because they look way better than American license plates. I order the Croatian license plates and match them to the license plate i get from the state digit wise. Croatian because thats where im sort of from. My C350 never had a front license plate installed on it and i didnt want to drill into the bumper to put this plate on. So i attached it to the lower grille on the car. I was looking to see what you guys thought about this and if anyone had any thoughts on how much it would restrict air frow to the radiator? Here is the picture of my way of putting it on the car, any input would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks.

It looks nice, I have a european plate on my car too on the right side of the dashboard inside and my regular license plate in the front on the grill like you have your euro plate.

Get a license plate holder that screws into the tow hook location and that way you won't be blocking airflow into the engine. Just a thought. Check the Bimmer sites for them.

It looks cool but you are blocking the air flow. Also check the legality of non-issued state rego plate.

I took the car for a spin with it on last night and it seemed like the car makes adjustments to always keep the engine temps around 90-100 Celsius... We have a similar plate on the 335i and haven't had any issues with police...

It is not the question of, if the car can adjust to it. I am just questioning the efficiency of the whole system. The car was designed and optimized in the wind tunnel for maximum efficiency.

I know that it is hard to drill that hole in a nice looking car. Believe me, been there and done that. Until I realized that it is just a car. That is why for me now, I just maximize the time with a temporary rego. That makes the front bumper clear, for a month at most. During that period you may or may not have some stone chip(s).

My euro plate is mounted with 3M moulding/trim tape. It has been on for over 3 years and I've had no problems with it. The OEM euro plate holder is around $120 and can not be ordered from US dealerships. You would have to ask a European member to purchase and ship one for you.

If i call a dealer over there and order one will they ship it or does it have to be a person buying it and then turning around and shipping it to me?
