Maybe I ask for too much. I love my 2012, I really do. I'm glad I bought it. But I have to say - there are a lot of 'little things' that are just stupid in my opinion.
Example:
Every time you start the car it defaults to Eco mode for the transmission. I understand that the average owner might prefer that. But WHY for the love of all that his holy, does a car with all of these computer controlled features and memory seats not REMEMBER WHICH MODE YOU LAST HAD IT IN?!?! I have to press the button every time I get in to set it to Sport mode. This makes no sense. Someone at Mercedes is a moron! Don't even get me started about how they crippled the Music Register...
/end rant

So I wonder why they changed this in 2012 so that it doesn't remain in its previous setting?

ROFL @ trade..
apparently it doesn't (but you'd already know that)
there is however some much discussion about the wear and tear of the S mode in the forums.
To summarize, in S mode it utilizes (Gears 1 - 7)
in E mode (Gears 2 - 7) for a smoother start.
Use the search function and you'd have more information on it.
