Question Strange software solution for C180K

Our Mercedes C180K (2010) was bought in May this year. At the beginning there was no problem but now the car is shaking when slowing down to below 20km/h. The solution offered by the local Mercedes repair center is to replace our current software with another version of software, without specifying any details (except that after the change, the dashboard will show "C" mode instead of current "E"). Note that this version is not upgrade or downgrade but just another software, which I find very strange. Is this a valid solution or nonsense?

Strange, if they change the software, you can always change between C and E...

Do you have auto transmission?
If so, ask them to flash your transmission...
